Three Years Old

From this.....

To this...

To this....
To this.
I have a three year old little girl. Or should I say big girl.

Who is spunky, talkative, playful, social, feisty, kind, good at sharing, sassy, friendly, lovable, totally cute, really smart and potty trained (mostly). And all ours.
We love her and we are thankful that she is part of our family.

Week in the Life : Random Thoughts about the week

I waste too much time. I should be more efficient.
Some things I am good about multi tasking others - not so much.

My kids eat a lot of sandwiches for lunch. Almost every day.

If I go to stores I like to spend money. So to not spend money, it's best to avoid stores. :)

I love that my kids get to play with the neighbor kids all the time. We are so lucky that they are all good little kids with good parents. We have common values and that makes it a whole lot easier. And really, we all live close and that makes it great too!

At about 4pm I get cranky. It's my sleepy, I've had a long day, please don't pester me, how long til dad gets home time. Some days I am good at working through it and not just being cranky. Some days, not so much.

Driving to and from school really adds pressure to the day - in the fact that you can't really go anywhere. And every day I am worried about being late for picking up Alden for school. I was once and it worried him and now every day around 3 I start watching the clock minute by minute. (Maybe that adds to my crankiness!

I love it when my kids play together. Nothing makes me happier.

Eli is such an easy baby. I am really blessed. I've had three good babies.

Eli was having a bit of a growth spurt this week. And had two nights of up every two hours for food.... which I am glad is not his normal routine! He is often sleeping from 8:30 or 9pm until around 5 or 6 am. Feeds and then back to sleep until 830 or 9. It's not every night, but it is a lot. And I am glad.

I love it when Regan gets home. Every day I am glad to see him.

We are lucky to have access to good friends. All around us.

A nice bouquet really adds to the atmosphere of the house.

I hate potty training. Every thing about it. Ew.

Can't believe my little Lucy is three.

We got to listen to General Conference at home via the internet and I am so thankful. Thankful we have a living prophet in the latter days. Thankful for the inspiring messages. Thankful for a testimony of Jesus Christ and of Heavenly Father.

Laundry is so much better in little doses rather than 6 loads in one day.

We go to the zoo a lot. In fact, Alden told us we took him there to much this week. (But we had family call and invite us to attend with them so we went both times!)

There are times when you have to sacrifice things you want, for things loved ones want. And that is okay. It's part of life.

Things are good. We are blessed.

Week in the Life : Tuesday Photos + Words

Highlights of the day...
• stopping at the library for good books and good movies
• working on editing photos

• the wonderful bouquet of flowers from a friend that is a feast for the senses, both the eyes and the nose

• every day breakfast for Alden. he MUST have green - even if it means the sippy cup if it's the only green cup washed
• distracting Lucy with the tv so she will let me do her hair
• multi-tasking teeth brushing and keeping a baby happy
• Lucy playing with Eli
And a low light (but very funny) of the day:
just as I was about to take this picture, Lucy wound up for a swing as Alden reacts in fear.....
(a time out came after for Lucy and I got a picture of that too - along with her fake crying.....)
other tidbits about the day
• Kim came over to hang out and told me to go grocery shopping kid free - which I did and enjoyed it
• Alden playing with Sam - reading books and play cars and riding bikes daily with Josie and Jared
• Lucy playing at Isabell's house (her very very very best friend)
• leftovers for supper along with corn on the cob
• I helped out at Young Women's activity - teaching them to sew bags
• Rushing out the door as soon as regan got home
• checking the mail daily for goodies (but most often getting bills)
• reading the paper every morning while I eat breakfast
• Alden picking out his own snack each day and putting it in his backpack for school
• Realizing it is 12:15 and the kids better each lunch quick so I can get Alden to school on time
• The kids playing in the sandbox and enjoying the lovely fall day
• Eli's many sleeps throughout the day

Are you playing along this week too? If so, I'd love a link!

And a big happy birthday today to my SIL Lindsay!

AND we are working on potty training today. She's already gone twice today and been dry all morning. Wish me LUCK!

Week in the Life : Monday Photos + Words

Well the weekend slipped away on me. Regan just finished a rotation so I was busy being with him. An important thing, that when he has time, I have to have time. He is my first priority. So I was with him. And our kids. I did manage to fit in another photo shoot on Saturday. With a fun, beautiful family that I am already excited about editing the pictures for. (But they are the back of the editing line!) :)

I started this project of documenting my life for a week. I took pictures all day yesterday and I wanted to do a point form jot down about the whole day that I can later use for my album I'll be making.

• got up a little earlier than usual, at 8:30am, to the sounds of Alden and Lucy fighting with each other at the kitchen table (not something nice to wake up to!)
• after their joint time out, we talked about what happened
• Lucy was upset because Alden was filling his bowl too full of milk, and she was yelling at him. So Alden hit her. So she hit him back.
• They both end up in tears even though no one is physically hurt, both of them (Alden probably more so) gets upset at the emotions of the fight more than being "hurt".
• Lucy just loses her temper at Alden not listening to her mothering
• Aunt Susie called and asked if we wanted to quickly get dressed and go to the zoo to enjoy the beautiful fall weather
• We quickly got dressed (about 45 minutes for all 4 of us to get ready - which is pretty good for us!!)
• And met up with Susie at the zoo.
• It was a great day at the zoo. Beautiful weather and no big crowds!
• Saw lots of good animals and played at the playground - which is always my kids favorite part.
• Got a work out at the zoo, while pushing that big stroller with all three kids on! 70 lbs of kids plus the stroller!
• Ate a picnic lunch before dropping Alden off at school
• Came back home with Susie meeting us here
• Sadie and Eli both had naps while Susie and I hung out and Lucy watched a little movie
• I drove to get Alden from school - and we met at our "new" spot, which is the train playground instead of right in front of the door
• Regan surprised us all by coming home early
• We decided to have a weiner roast at Bowness park, so Reg, Alden and Lucy ran to the store to pick up supplies while Susie and I got everything ready
• Invited the Clark family
• Had hot dogs, pasta salad, chips and then smores
• the kids rode around on their bikes & we hung out
• the kids loved playing in the dirt and getting REALLY filthy so as soon as we got home it was quick baths for all - then family prayers, stories, songs and bed time
• then relaxing time for Regan and me - well not so much Reg as he has to get CARMS stuff ready for residency - but I got to lay on the couch and hold Eli and watch Chuck (my fav show)

If you actually read that all you must be bored (hahahaha)
