10 on Tuesday

1. Did you know I hate competition? I think it only applies in sports (and not at any crazy level there - HATE that) and games (and even then only a very small level of it). I think it is such a waste of time and energy and good will to constantly compare and compete. Competition in our lives in other areas robs us of self worth and can consume us and create unkind feelings and actions to others. Life is just too short for all that nonsense.

2. I love love love love LOVE my dinner club. (Did I mention I love it?)

3. Is this not the cutest sound?

4. Alden has been asking me for quite some time if he could read Harry Potter and finally I told him he could read the first book if he wanted. He started that instant.

5. Last week while school was out Alden wanted (and got) to play the wii TOO much. So on one day I wrote a list of random things and then put them all into a container and he picked them out and had to build them out of lego. This is his temple. It had an angel Moroni but someone took it off.

6. Grandma came over to visit. And Oliver likes to follow his mom wherever she goes. And apparently Eli likes to eat his toes.

7. This kid was in DIRE need of a hair cut. My friend Rebecca came over and did it.... and Eli wasn't such a fan (as usual)

8. It SNOWED and looks all pretty now.

9. Our new van is AWESOME!! It's a 2012 Honda Odessey. Did I already tell you that? Can't remember. I need to take a picture of it! Tomorrow (maybe)

10. I baked a LOT of stuff over the past week. And sadly now I want brownies. These ones to be exact. I made them at Christmas and I *might* still be dreaming of them. I wonder if I can still find some candy canes.....

Jealous of your new van. They are so nice. They look so sleak. And can I call a van cool?? We are looking for a van. Oddly none of our 3 vehicles will fit 3 car seats.

I have a box of Candy canes at my house in Lethy. If you can wait till next weekend, you can have them!!! One less thing for me to pack. lol.

Those brownies are delish, but I love mint/candy cane naniamo bars. Great now I will crave those all day!

How is Alden liking Harry Potter? I recently starting reading it to Avery. I thought it would be a nice bonding thing for me to read a book to him--he recently told me he wants to read the 2nd book by himself.

Great idea about the legos. It would be nice for kids to use their creativity and use the actual legos instead of just playing the Lego games on the Wii. :)

Alden's intense expression is perfect!

I think a lot about competition and comparison (it's passive twin?) Someone told me, that comparison between women is a comparable problem to men and pornography. Which at first seems rather outrageous until you think, both stop us from feeling the Spirit, both attack our sense of worth and affect our capacities to love. Also, both are addicting, and we need Heavenly Father's help to overcome.

Love you Rhonda!

I love that Alden just dived right in!
So what's the competition? Because if it's not being lazy and actually finishing projects you are winning whether you like competition or not! Your house is looking fabulous!
I don't have candy canes but I do have a few bags of candy cane kisses that I somehow forgot about at Christmas time. Melt them on to of the brownies??? I'll help you make them because I want to eat them! I have actually never made brownies from scratch, lam-o. You better teach me! Are my three ?'s bugging you? How about the fact that I used a ? instead of writing it in that last sentence? What if I said I love 2 use the letter 2 instead of the word. Or Whitneys comment. Ha! Actually I hate that too.
ps thanks for letting Finn play wii!

I've got candy canes if you want, but only if you bring me a piece of brownie in return :) jks They look delish! Isn't the kids laughing the best? Yeah for a new van, I bet your lovin it! I love that your so down to earth. It's a superb quality. Sweet idea about the legos. I'll have to remember that one when Bryce gets older, he is just starting to love lego instead of getting frustrated with it. I enjoy reading your blog. Now to see if I'm not a robot.....

ok, I'll stop our competition of who is the most funny. You can win. I claim second though.
Glad you have a new vehicle (and it's working!)
